David Bernal

David Bernal is a true San Diego native — born in Chula Vista, graduated from Mar Vista High School. He started DJing at 12, was working the San Diego nightclub circuit professionally by 18, and studied architecture at New School of Architecture and Design before his creative instincts led him somewhere with more latitude: the AV world of nightlife.

He honed his craft as an AV designer and technician at Bassmnt Nightclub, then joined Parq at opening in 2014 to work with what was then some of the most advanced lighting and production in San Diego. Within a year, he was promoted to Technical Director — a role he's held for over a decade.

David's work is the invisible architecture of every Parq night. He designs light shows that shift with the music, the crowd, and the energy in the room — treating production not as a backdrop but as a living part of the experience. His goal is simple: make sure every person who walks through the door has a night they won't forget.
