Parq Nightclub is committed to providing a welcoming experience for all of our guests, both in our venue at 615 Broadway and on our website at parqsd.com. We believe nightlife should be accessible, and we are working to meet recognized accessibility standards throughout our digital and physical spaces.
Our Commitment
We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines describe how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities — including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification, or speech input, and people with cognitive, motor, hearing, or visual impairments.
Accessibility is not a one-time project. We audit the site, test new features against assistive technologies, and address issues as we find them.
Measures We Take
To support accessibility on parqsd.com we:
- Use semantic HTML (proper headings, landmarks, lists, and navigation roles) so screen readers can interpret page structure.
- Provide descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
- Design for keyboard navigation, so the site is usable without a mouse.
- Maintain sufficient color contrast between text and backgrounds.
- Design with responsive layouts that work on phones, tablets, and desktop.
- Label form fields clearly and pair errors with helpful messages.
- Avoid relying on color alone to convey information.
- Avoid auto-playing audio or rapid flashing that could trigger seizures or vestibular disorders.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some parts of the site may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. Known areas where we are still working include:
- Third-party content: Ticketing, reservation, and job application pages are hosted by third parties (See Tickets, Eventim, Eventbrite, SevenRooms, Paylocity). The accessibility of those pages is governed by those companies, and experiences may vary.
- Video content: Our homepage uses ambient background video without audio. Decorative video is not captioned. If we add video with spoken content, we will add captions.
- Event artwork: Event flyers often include event names, dates, and DJ names rendered as graphic images. We provide an alt-text summary, but the image itself may not be machine-readable.
If you encounter an accessibility barrier we haven't listed here, please let us know — we want to hear about it and will work to address it.
Accessibility at the Venue
Parq is located at 615 Broadway in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego. The venue includes accessible entrances and restrooms. If you have specific accessibility needs for your visit — mobility accommodations, seating requests, or anything else that would help us host you well — please contact us in advance so we can prepare.
Assistive Technologies We Test With
Our accessibility testing is performed against recent versions of:
- VoiceOver on macOS (Safari) and iOS (Safari)
- NVDA on Windows (Chrome, Firefox)
- TalkBack on Android (Chrome)
- Keyboard-only navigation on all major desktop browsers
If you use a different assistive technology and encounter problems, please tell us — we would rather know and fix it.
